You will need to purchase from a hosting company (like HostGator or GoDaddy, for example), a domain (this is your .com, .org., .net, etc.) and the hosting for the website (this is where your website lives so it can be put online).

Additionally, you will need your website's content (text and pictures).

Which parts of the website setup process will you assist me with?

The entire process! From choosing a hosting provider to the final launch, we will help you with the entire setup!

Do I need to provide all of the content for the website?

Yes, the client is responsible for providing all of the content for each page. This includes the written content and all of the photos. If you do not want to take photos, we recommend looking up stock photos. You can get free stock photos from websites such as Pixabay, Freepik, and Adobe Stock. We offer basic photography services for $50 per hour. Each photo taken during a session will be yours to keep. If you need assistance writing your content, we can refer you to a third-party content writer for assistance.

Does my business need to be incorporated in order to get a website?

No, you can get started on your website regardless of your business' incorporation status. Incorporation is not a requirement to get started on a website.

How do I get a professional email address?

When choosing a hosting plan from a hosting company, ensure that it includes email. This will allow you to create a professional email ([email protected]). We can assist you with this when setting up your new website.

What is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is the necessary steps we take to ensure that your website is ready to be found on major search engines such as Google. We work with you every step of the way to ensure that the content you provide us to place in your new website is ready for Google to find it!

What is the difference between a domain and hosting?

The domain is the actual address to your website (www.yourwebsitehere.com). A domain points to a website that is being hosted by a hosting provider (sometimes it can be the same company as your domain provider). Hosting is simply the space your website lives at, which the domain directs to. Examples of hosting companies include HostGator, GoDaddy, Bluehost, and 1&1 IONOS. Hosting companies provide both hosting and domain registration, but if you do not have to use one for both of them. It is recommended however, to use one for both as a way of maintaining simplicity and centralization.

Do you only work with WordPress?

Yes, we only use WordPress and work with WordPress clients.

Can I hire you to build a website on Wix or Weebly?

No, we do not recommend either one of these platforms for many reasons. One important reason being that you do not get to own your website files. They hold your website on their servers and cannot be migrated to another company should you need to change platforms. Additionally, many of their templates lack a modern, professional look and feel. In simplest terms, we strongly advise against getting a website built on either of these two platforms.

My website is not ranking on Google. What can I do to fix this and get found?

Do you charge any hourly rates?

Yes, in certain circumstances. No hourly rates are charged to work on your website project out of the box. However, we do charge $50 per hour for any session that requires us to work directly with you. For example, if you require a one-on-one session to take care of certain aspects of your project then this hourly rate will apply. One-on-one sessions can be held in-person when available or by phone with screen sharing, and can be used to take care of any matters related to the client's needs.
